Chalkboard Paint - Easy Way to Decorate Your Home

Blackboard paint is also known as chalkboard paint. It's a special kind of surface treatment that gives you a piece of wall in your home where you can write or draw on. It's not only funny and looks happy but can also be useful: creating to-do lists, shopping lists, reminders, etc.

You can make your own blackboard too for that you only need to buy some blackboard paint and dedicate a little time to it. It's also a great way to unite the family and do something together. Here are the steps to decorate your home with a chalkboard style painting:

1.) First of all you need to choose a suitable place to install the "board" - a big enough piece of wall what you will paint on. This can be in the kitchen, in the living room or even in the bath room!

2.) Buy blackboard paint. This is easy, you can buy it in every hardware or painting store. In case they don't know what blackboard paint is just refer to chalkboard paint.

3.) Clean the designated area with warm, soapy water and let it dry. While the wall is drying you can open the paint can and let your kids stir it properly. Use a brush to paint the wall - you need to do that from top to bottom. Chances are that one go won't be enough, you might need to do 2-3 repaints just to create thick enough coating on the wall.

4.) Let the paint dry for a day or two. While drying it's absolutely forbidden to touch the paint. Not only will it ruin the surface but your children can swallow the paint which is quite dangerous. Once it's dry get the chalks and paint away with your children!

Blackboard paint is definitely one of the easiest and cheapest solution to improve your home a bit without investing a lot of money. And in the meantime: everyone is having fun!
